Nike’s Blazer Mid has been reworked countless times since its 1973 debut, but this pair hasn’t just had a simple redesign. No, Yuta Hosokawaout’s Readymade completely dismantles the iconic model and reconstructs it to DIY-inspired specifications. Angular panels form the upper, ranging from monochrome textiles and leather to foam patterned with granite-like speckles around the collar. The neon Swoosh is distorted by today’s standards but it’s straight from Nike’s prototype archive, while bumpy foxing tape and a NikeGrind rubber sole add final upcycled touches underfoot.
